Content
This course introduces key concepts and state-of-the-art engineering principles for interactive systems with a specific focus on biosignal-aware adaptive systems leveraging AI and wearables. The course explores the interplay of human activities, sensors, and biosignals with wearable technologies, and discusses how artificial intelligence can be applied across the pipeline from sensing to modeling to interaction. Generative AI application is introduced as a complementary means for interface ideation and adaptation.
The course is complemented with an engineering capstone project in cooperation with VisualVest, where students work in teams on real-world use cases to realize a prototypical biosignal-aware adaptive system using state-of-the-art wearable technologies, Python-based processing, and contemporary UI technologies.
